Prof. Menachem Lorbebraum on the Task of Theology

Event Details:

  • Date & Time February 24, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The John Paul II Center for Interreligious Dialogue and the Centro Pro Unione cordially invite you to the lecture of Professor Menachem Lorberbaum On the Task of Theology: Theological Foundation of Interreligious Dialogue from a Jewish Perspective.

Prof. Lorberbaum is a Vice-Dean and Professor at the Department of Jewish Philosophy and Talmud at the Tel Aviv University in Israel, who also teaches at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum).

During his lecture at the Centro Pro Unione, Prof. Lorberbaum will invite us to look at theology as a chance to reflect critically at our faith commitments and as an occasion to revitalize our standing in the world as people conscious of standing before God. Faith holds out the possibility of radical questioning and of radical hope. Against this background, the lecture will focus on Isaiah 11 as a call to conceive of eschatological hope as a joint project of human faith in God and a criterion by which our religious commitment should constantly be measured.

_You are invited to attend it both in person at Centro Pro Unione шт Кщьу (*Via di Santa Maria dell’Anima, 30*) or online on Thursday Feb 24th @6pm._
